So you ask, what are good spices for chicken? Glad you asked! We have a long list of tasty spices for chicken that you can reference and order through our online spice shop or pick up in the store. Let’s break this down a bit so that we can step up your chicken dinner game:

Mexican Herbs and Spices

Give your chicken a bit of Mexican flair with adobo, carne asada, chili lime seasoning, or mole spices:

Adobo – Our adobo seasoning salt is used in many Latin countries and marries the flavor of garlic and oregano with cumin. Sprinkle it onto meats prior to cooking or use a dash to add some flavor to any other dish such as mixed veggies, soups, casseroles, you name it.

Carne Asada – This blend contains all the ingredients to make any steak, chicken, or pork overflow with tasty and authentic flavors from the South. Add equal parts of vinegar and oil and marinade your meats to create a flavorful dinner.

Chili Lime Seasoning – Vacationers to South-of-the-border destinations will recognize this blend as the mouth-watering chili mixture that gets sprinkled on everything from fresh mango to fresh pineapple slices. Don’t stop with fruit though. Try our chili lime seasoning on grill chicken, fish, or on slices of fresh avocado.

Mole – This seasoning captures that complex, spicy chocolate flavor of traditional Mexican mole. Great on chicken, beef, or pork. Combine with water or broth to create a versatile mole paste. Also, try in chili to add a subtle hint of chocolate.

Cuban Herbs and Spices

Here’s an idea, give your chicken seasoning a Cuban twist!

Mojo Cubano – You’ll definitely want to give this Caribbean inspired blend of herbs and spices a whirl. With a tasty hint of citrus, you can rub this spice on pork or chicken and add to rice or black beans for a tasty new dish.

BBQ Herbs and Spices

There’s nothing like a good ol’ BBQ flavor to add some pizzazz to your chicken dish. Might we suggest a few?

Backyard Brew Marinade – Balancing hops with numerous spices to give a flavorful beer taste to any meat, simply add 1 oz Old Town Spice Shop Backyard Brew Marinade, ½ cup beer or water, 2 tbsp oil, 2 tbsp white or apple cider vinegar, and 2 lbs chicken, beef, pork, or shrimp. Mix and marinade meat in the refrigerator for 15 minutes. Enjoy!

Mango Chipotle Rub – Marrying together two fantastic flavors into one mouthwatering rub. This rub can be added to fish, pork, chicken, and steak to make it sing with a medley of flavors.

Sweetgrass Prairie Blend – This blend combines smokey, acidic, and typical prairie spice flavors to create a tasty blend perfect for meats and potatoes. Use this as a dry rub poultry seasoning. It’s also good on duck, pork, or beef. And get this, a percentage of all sales go to prairie wildlife research!

Red Mountain – This sweet chili flavored blend playfully balances paprike and sumac, creating a unique smoked flavor. This one is equally tasty on fish, chicken, pork, or beef.
